Shepshed Singers

NEXT CONCERT: 8th November at Holy Trinity Church, Barrow.  Details

We are a mixed four part choir of some 42 voices based in Shepshed in Leicestershire. Founded in 1977, the choir has gained a reputation for performing neglected and unfamiliar music as well as better known and popular pieces, both sacred and secular.

We rehearse weekly throughout the year and aim to achieve a high standard in both performance and presentation. Most of our music is a capella although we usually perform a larger work with orchestra each year. Recent performances have included Michna's St Wenceslas Mass (more on this concert) and Valls' Missa Scala Aretina. We have sung at venues around Britain and have toured five times to Europe (most recently to Paris). In addition to our own concerts we are often booked for weddings, Christmas events and other social functions and we have had success in a number of music festivals.

Our Musical Director is Andrew Goff, who has conducted the Singers since 1985.

We have vacancies for tenors and basses. Please email our chairman.
